Jawaharlal Memorial Social Welfare & Public Co-operation Centre, (Jawahar Centre) is one of the well-established and reputed NGOs in the country, based in Thalayolaparambu Panchayath in Vaikom Taluk of Kottayam District in Kerala State. It was registered on 26th March 1970 under The Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955, and its Registration Number is K-19/1970.
The main objectives of establishing the Centre were to work for the overall development and welfare of the weaker section and downtrodden of the society especially, for the benefit of women and children in the rural/backward areas. The Centre relentlessly strives to achieve the main objective and aims by providing various services to support and empower thousands of poor and economically weaker families.

Started in 1970, as a Non-Governmental Organization(NGO), registered to the Government under Societies Registration Act as No. K. 19/1970, Jawahar is engaged in several activities and beneficial programmes with the assistance and co-operation of different Departments and Organizations. There are 79 staff members both permanent and temporary engaged for the project activities. Technically qualified such as MBBS,GNS, MSW, B.tech & Commerce graduate are included in the project activities.
JMSWPCC is one of the registered implementing agencies to run projects sponsored by the O/o the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) under the Ministry of Textiles. The organization helps Craft- artisans and traditional craftsmen to reach the contemporary needs of tomorrow in terms of new design techniques and marketing possibilities. They help artisans to manufacture products, organize workshops to improve their skills, and also to foresee the marketing protentional in today’s market. JMSWPCC helps to promote the craft in all possible manners offline and online.
